How frequently should I book adult private swim lessons?

Most swim students thrive and tend to progress faster with a one on one lesson. I then give you a program/practice sheet for you to do at your own pace and time. Research has shown that skills are better acquired with regular practice.

My children have been in swimming lessons from the age of four months; I was insistent that they learn the skills I hadn’t. By toddlerhood they were asking questions – “Why won’t you go in without holding your nose?” “Why won’t you swim with us?” – and by preschool their ability had well surpassed mine.

No need to feel embarrassed “I run these lessons for people just like you; there are so many parents who have realised they need to increase their skills so they can enjoy the aquatic environment with their kids.”

Not that my decision, at the age of 38, to sign up for swimming lessons was motivated purely by the desire to avoid drowning — it was mostly pride. My expectations for the lessons were simple: to learn how to swim. This I did but I learnt a few more things too. Naturally enough, with my newfound knowledge, when I recently visited the beach I thought it was time I pushed the envelope a little, so I headed out, and out … and out a bit more. I had more confidence.

I am here to help everyone achieve this confidence. What are you waiting for?

How long will it take for me to learn how to swim?

Every individual is unique and learns and progresses at their on pace.

If nothing else, the demonstration that it's never too late to learn something new, that you shouldn't let embarrassment hold you back from doing what you want to do, that I’d get a mouthful and a nose-full of water, I’d panic, and at the same time my body would give up, sending me under.

Breath control is so important and once I show you how easy it is to master this skill you will feel more confident in your swimming ability.

It somehow feels shameful to admit that, as an adult, I cannot swim. It’s taken me a long time to admit it. I have thought about enrolling in swimming lessons my adulthood life, but it was always too embarrassing.

I offer private tuition in a respectful and comfortable environment where you will not need to worry about being embarrassed. Lets focus on the positives of what you will achieve once you find the courage to learn a new life skill.
